Storage Shed Project

Most of you know that Nysha and I have recently purchased a home on the north side and after spending some time trying to get everything packed into it's own place, we decided to build a storage shed outside. We've tweaked around with the plans for the last month or so and finally broke ground to get ready for the floor. This first picture is the footprint of the shed. The lawn has quite a bit of a slope on it so I figured I'd have to dig down a bit more near the end of the house.

I wanted to take a picture of the official "groundbreaking". Kinda dorky, yes, but I want to have lots of pictures of our first big project.

This is when I had dug down and leveled the first skid to give me an idea of how deep I had to dig the whole footprint. It looks a lot deeper than it really is. Needless to say, there was a lot more digging to do before I was done!

This one is kinda silly too but after digging that first skid in and only measuring the end closest to the house, I just "eye-balled" it and the whole thing was level! It was great!

Down the alley next to Bridge Villa Estates, there used to be a lot of trees and the City of Lethbridge has just taken them out last year. While I was digging down, I found ALOT of roots that I had to cut out with my saw.

I got the rest of the footprint dug out today and was able to get the skids leveled. I got the 2x6's cut and set in place. It's coming along great! There's alot of dirt to take to the dump!

It looks like you are doing great. Why don't you see if anyone in the area wants the dirt for fill somewhere. It would save paying to take it to the dump.
